Yes. (Almost) everything you say in therapy is completely confidential and will not ever leave the room.
I take your confidentiality so seriously that I will not come up to you if I see you on the street or in the grocery store because I want to make sure to protect your confidentiality completely (of course, if you want to say approach me and say hi, that’s great too).
The few exceptions to confidentiality are when there’s a high risk of you harming yourself or someone else, if there is minor or elder abuse, or if there is a court order for my court records.

If we both feel like it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule a time when we can have a first session together.
If it doesn’t feel like a good fit, I can provide you with contact information for other therapists that I think would be a good for you.
-
In the first session you’ll share about what is bringing you to therapy and the change you are hoping to see. We’ll create goals together and discuss a plan to work towards those goals.
At the end of the first session, we can determine together if we’d be a good fit to work together.
